What's All the Fuss about Ski Boot Liners?
If you ever plan to visit a skiing resort, you would find that in many places there is a lot of advice given on the apparently not so important ski boot liners.
What is the deal with this? I never heard about this importance.
Ski Boot Liners Can Destroy Your Skiing Trip If Neglected
There is a term that you would come across quite often when you look around for information on ski boot liners and that is 'packing out'.
The meaning of this term 'packing out' is that the liners have collapsed and this will give an immediate unconfortable feeling to you feet.
In normal cases you wouldn't even care as long as it is not hurting.
However, you should never neglect this problem; it would be good to pay close attention to what the liners are telling you all the time and go for a change as soon as you find them becoming loose and flat.
There is no fixed period of time that would warn you about when to check on ski boot liners; it all depends upon how your foot falls into the boot and then how much pressure on these ski boot liners you could exert until your feet ask for the second pair.
You would know that the liners are not okay when your foot is no longer comfortably packed within the boot and its slips around the boot too much.
A second problem that arises when these ski boot liners become worn out is that they do not absorb sweat and water anymore. This will result into soaking wet socks and feet in no time.
For a fast dry up, load the boots with cat litter gathered in nylon socks for about a day and your problem would be solved for the time being.
If your foot moves inside the shoes too much and if you find that it gets wet inside the boots, it means you need a new pair of sports shoes; checked on time, the liners could be coaxed a little into not making any damage.
If your ski boot liners are bad, it is certain that you will get blisters on the feet due to the fact that your feet are flip flopping inside the ski boot. This will make your foot raw.
How Often Should I Change Ski Liners?
Usually these are changed every year; but this does not mean you should forget about it even if you feel uncomfortable during the year.
Immediate actions are required.
